We are delighted to feature, for a second year, in the Sunday Times School Guide! Our SATs results are 64th in the country and the second highest for Independent schools in the region!
Well done to Archie, Juliet, Phoebe C, Casper, Callum, Phoebe R, Seb, Oliver, Jemima, George, Heidi, Tom and William who are continuing to work hard at their secondary schools of choice. The 2019 leavers received several scholarship offers and awards from Bradford Grammar, Woodhouse Grove and Giggleswick School We are pleased to report that all children are enjoying secondary school at the above three schools and also at Ilkley Grammar School, Ermysted’s Grammar School, Queen Ethelburga’s and St Mary’s Menston.
We couldn’t be prouder and, in the words of Giggleswick Headteacher Mr Turnbull:
“We love the way pupils from Ghyll Royd take part so positively in the whole breadth of the curriculum. They have always brought a strength in the performing arts, an active interest in all that is going on and a consideration for those around them. They are down to earth, respectful, have-a-go individuals with genuine ambition to make the very best of their opportunities.”
This news comes in our 130th year after a whirlwind of accolades for our School including receiving Gold in the School Games Mark and being ranked one of 3 finalists in the Independent Schools of the Year Small School awards, the only school in the North of England shortlisted.
Although Ghyll Royd children did not sit the SATs exams in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 leavers have all settled into their secondary schools of choice.
Well done Ghyll Royd! You can read about our many other achievements in our 2020 highlights!
