“I have 2 children at the school and they love every minute, even though the school is small compared to most, it has definitely benefited my children. The small classes allow for more help and guidance. The teachers and headmaster are very committed to the students and make learning fun. The outdoor space is a huge bonus and very much encourages outdoor learning. I never have to worry about my children whilst they under the care and guidance of Ghyll Royd.”

“The school is a fabulous learning environment. The teachers are so good at engaging the children, the curriculum is varied and challenging and the class sizes mean the children get any individual attention that they may need. Our child continues to thrive at Ghyll Royd.”

“Ghyll Royd is a fantastic school, and we decided to send our daughter here from a young age because of the schools ethos, amazing SAT results and everything they have to offer. They have fantastic outdoor facilities and offer a wide range of extra curricular activities, sports and creative arts. The wonderful staff have encouraged and supported my daughter’s academic and personal growth from preschool and are now preparing her for the move to high school. We are very proud to be part of Ghyll Royd and cannot recommend this school enough!”

“Starting with the headteacher, a culture of focus on the individual student permeates through the entire staff. It is a school that is completely committed to each and every student within their care. We have two young kids at Ghyll Royd and they have both flourished which is due to the fact that their needs are tailored for. Most importantly, they love going to school here! The grounds are fantastic and even the chef receives rave reviews . It is a positive and encouraging environment and we are proud to be a part of this amazing community.”

“Ghyll Royd really sums up what is good about education; it gives the children a well rounded and broad foundation. It providers excellent teachers and helps all the children achieve their personnel best. It achieves great academic results but that is only part of the picture, I believe the real success of the School can be shown in the well- rounded, thoughtful, intelligent and questioning minds which leave at the end of year six.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for welcoming Millie so nicely. She is thoroughly enjoying coming which can be seen in the fact that she wants to come more often! I really made the right decision in sending her to Ghyll Royd.”

“Ghyll Royd is a warm, friendly school, one which encourages each and every child to do their very best. The pupils are to be commended on their manners, their politeness and their obvious pride in their school. The pupils are so well prepared for their secondary school of choice, achieving excellent entrance exam results, many with scholarships. We can’t recommend Ghyll Royd enough.”

“Our children started at Ghyll Royd just over a term ago and from day 1 they have both loved it. The school has helped grow their confidence and has given them the opportunity to take part in so many different activities and new learning experiences. The staff and the other parents have been so welcoming and supportive – we couldn’t have asked for any more!”

“Our oldest son already attended another school in the area but when they shut their pre-school we had a dilemma as to what to do with our younger son – keep him at nursery another year or move both children to Ghyll Royd. We had no problems deciding that our youngest son should start in the Pre-School but agonised over whether to move our eldest from a school he had settled into. Our eldest son used to be shy and quiet. After a few years at his previous school he had just started to show his true colours and we didn’t want to set him back by moving him. Eventually we made the decision to move both children to Ghyll Royd and have never looked back. We as parents couldn’t have been supported more in settling our boys in. Parents were on hand to give advice on the practical things, the staff were available to talk to and provide reassurance that my boys had settled in and all the children were polite, friendly and willing to help Josh and Casper settle into the school routine. Although Josh, our eldest, did struggle for a few weeks, he soon started to show his true colours again! My only regret is not discovering Ghyll Royd sooner.”

“We were overwhelmed by the family atmosphere when we first looked around Ghyll Royd, and this remains an overriding positive about the school. This environment provides the perfect foundation to develop the individual potential of each individual child, no matter what that is. Ghyll Royd will always look for ways to build the confidence of children and provide them with really important lifeskills that are very much recognised and appreciated by the secondary schools in the area. The children mix really well between all the age groups, with older pupils enjoying helping little one’s with lunch and clubs for example, and and the younger girls and boys appreciating being involved in the older pupils’ games, or being part of a house team for a quiz or sports event. Ghyll Royd is a very special place.”
